Shirley Heatman, Secretary/Treasurer Mrs Heatman has served on the board for a decade. She brings 40 years of experience in direct medical care to her post. Mrs Heatman continue in active medical care and brings that dynamic to board discussions. |
Loren W. Burch, Director Loren has lived in Cantil since 1967 and served on the board since 1974. He was Director of the Mojave Airport for 40 years, founding director of Mojave Desert Bank, was active in California City Community Players and MC'd Cal City "Queen" pageants for 30 years. |
Dale Leffler, Director Dale worked as a dispatcher 18 years at the California City Police Department and 9 years as record clerk, is presently retired but works part time at the Mojave Unified District High School in Mojave. |
C onstance (Connie) Bentley, Vice-President Connie was born at Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona, in 1960. She travelled around the United States with her Air Force family arriving at Edward AFB in May of 1967. In June of 1974, the family was assigned to Germany and she spent five years in West Berlinbehind the Iron Curtain, where she attended school and returned to Edwards AFB in 1979. She graduated from Mojave High School, attended beauty school in Lancaster and has been cutting hair ever since. Connie has one son: Colton and one daughter: Marissa. She owns her own home in California City next door to her parents. Connie enjoys martial arts and going on long walks each morning. |
Robert E. Smith, President Born in New York City, NY in 1938. Graduated from St Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, NJ in 1956. One year at University of Notre Dame then four years at USAF Academy, graduating with a BS in 1961. Entered USAF and did 15 years as airlift pilot, psywar pilot, plans and operations. Came to California City in 1978. Retired after 15 years in California City Fire Department and 30 years as reporter/photographer for newspapers. Have a master degree in political science from Industrial College of Armed Forces and a master degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. |
